What I am all about.
Hi, I'm Karsten.
Born and raised in Northern Germany I am now located in Karlsruhe after stations in Osnabrück, Nuremberg and Frankfurt.
I started my journey in the IT business as a Customer Support Agent and Windows Client Administrator.
In 2015 I changed the course of my career and dived all in into the cloud business. When I realized which possibilities the public clouds had to offer, I was convinced that this would be the future of IT.
So since then I decided to lay my focus on all things Cloud, container, Kubernetes, automation, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and building resilient, highly available infrastructure
But it's not only about Big Data, huge infrastructure migrations or massive Kubernetes workloads. These are problems that only a few companies really face, to be honest. You are probably not "The Next Google or Facebook", so why try to solve their problems?
The Cloud offers many tools and services that can improve your business or product right now.
Start small, migrate a service to the Cloud. Use a serverless offering or a Managed Container Instance and deploy to production with a simple merge request.
The tools are out there and a lot of them are way cheaper than you might think. Why not use them? Start small, scale with growth!
Support or development and improvement of existing systems.

Even on a small budget it is possible to leverage the advantages the cloud offers. It doesn't have to be Kubernetes. Start with VMs, Autoscaling and a Loadbalancer and see from there.
